Congratulations to Madilyn Gay and Jaishawn White for winning the "If I Were Mayor" Essay Contest! This contest, held in conjunction with Georgia Cities Week, gives our 6th-grade students a chance to share their vision for the future. The City of Sylvester reviewed all submissions and was impressed by the creativity and leadership ideas shared. Mayor Proctor also spoke with students before students began writing, helping them deepen their understanding of a mayor's important role. Madilyn and Jaishawn stood out with their thoughtful and imaginative essays on what they would do if they were mayor—way to go!
